Sol Scrace and Lewis Carter, both under 18 players from Clevedon RFC, have been standout performers for their club and College teams. Their dedication, skill, and passion for rugby have not gone unnoticed, leading to this incredible achievement of being selected for such a high-profile tournament.
The Sanix World Youth Games, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is often regarded as a mini ‘World Cup’ for young rugby players. Teams from powerhouse rugby nations like New Zealand, South Africa, and England will converge in Japan for a series of thrilling matches that showcase the future stars of the sport. This tournament is highly esteemed, with live-streaming bringing the games to a global audience.
To help fund their trip and make this dream a reality, Sol and Lewis are organizing a raffle to raise the necessary funds. The boys have already secured a fantastic prize – a signed Bristol Bears shirt, generously donated by the team. The raffle is a wonderful opportunity for the community to support these young athletes and ensure they can represent Clevedon and SGS on the international stage.
Sol and Lewis are reaching out to local businesses, friends, and family for support. They are seeking donations of prizes for the raffle and inviting everyone to buy tickets. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and help cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and other expenses associated with the trip.
Sol Scrace expressed his excitement: “Being selected for the Sanix World Youth Games is a dream come true. We’re so grateful for the support from our community and can’t wait to represent Clevedon and SGS in Japan.”
Lewis Carter added: “This is a huge opportunity for us, and we’re working hard to make it possible. We hope everyone will get behind us, donate prizes, and buy raffle tickets to support our journey.”
If you would like to donate prizes please contact Sol Scrace, Lewis Carter or DOR Tony Dauncey. Raffle Tickets will be on sale at the club and the boys will be selling tickets at home games Your generosity will not only support two talented young players but also promote the spirit of rugby within our community.
Join us in wishing Sol and Lewis the best of luck as they prepare to compete on the world stage. Let’s show them the strength of Clevedon’s support and help them achieve their dreams.
Supporting our local talent not only boosts their confidence but also fosters a strong sense of community pride. Let's come together and help these young athletes make their mark on the world of rugby! ?
